Putting their money where their mouth is. 
Despite the stress and excitement that goes into planning the ideal wedding, 
more and more couples are willingly adding to the complexities by insisting 
that the event is as eco-friendly as possible.
"I haven't yet had a couple deciding on disposable plates, though one couple 
was divided over whether paper plates were more or less eco-friendly than porcelain 
ones that required lots of water and some chemicals to wash" says a wedding 
planning consultant with clients in and around Seattle, "but it's going to happen one day,
judging by the care with which they judge everything else by its environmental impact".
Questioned so often about the sources of the precious metals – especially gold – that is

find a refinery willing to provide only re-cycled metals for his clients.
"It used to be quite a challenge making sure that couples making each other's rings with 
their own hands in our licensees' workrooms were doing so with metals of which they approved", 
said Barnes, "but we now have an arrangement with this refinery that ensures all of 
the metals we offer are re-cycled"

"Because the final result is guaranteed to be indistinguishable from professionally 
hand-made ones", added Barnes, "and they have a hard time convincing others, 
they take home with their rings a camera on which we have photographed them at each 
stage of the process.  From the first shot of them holding little containers of raw metal,
to the last one where they are beaming all over their faces and proudly holding 
the rings they've just made for each other".
